Oneida County can begin hiring separated corrections officers following a State Supreme Court judge’s ruling on April 2, 2023, which issued a temporary restraining order against Governor Kathy Hochul’s executive order. The order, announced on March 10, would have disqualified about 2,000 officers who participated in a February strike from government jobs.
