Oneida County Pride Alliance Hosts Trans Rights Rally for Transgender Day of Visibility
The Oneida County Pride Alliance will host a Trans Rights Rally at noon on March 29 at Oneida Square in Utica, in recognition of Transgender Day of Visibility on March 31. This event aims to celebrate trans identities and raise awareness about ongoing struggles for equality, amid increasing discrimination highlighted by the ACLU’s report of 527 anti-LGBTQ+ bills in early 2025. The OCPA, a nonprofit supporting the LGBTQIA+ community in Oneida County, emphasizes the importance of visibility and advocacy for the rights of transgender and gender nonconforming individuals.
